When the meth lab exploded and took the garage door clean off, we decided it was time to get out before the law caught up with us.

gotta be more clear when you say chocolate cake cuz it does matter how it is presented and how it tastes. I thought I had a homemade cake once then I later went through the crap in the kitchen and my aunt had lied to me; it was a piece of crap Duncan Hines cake.

So who's inviting me over?

SicEmBaylor
7/4/2007, 10:55 AM
Every year the SicEm family clan gathers at my grandparent's lake house in Salina (OK not KS). I used to get a couple hundred dollars in fireworks and shoot them off all day/night, but now I'd rather sit on the deck with a beer (yes a real one) and a cigar. I had to run up to Ted's yesterday in Tulsa to grab some sticks for the holiday. I went to the new one at the Farm which I liked more than the one at Utica.

Anyway, the odd thing about our holiday though is that my grandmother always makes a Turkey. I never understood the connection between the 4th and cooking a Turkey dinner aside from the fact that they may be crazy.

I bet it has something to do with the turkey nearly becoming the national bird.

I expect a full report on the chicken.

King Crimson

i'm actually not in charge of the chicken. a buddy who works at the Oskar Blues brewery in Lyons, CO is primping the BB chicken. the Old Chub Scottish style beer they have is pretty good, the pale ale is pretty average.

i'm not cooking, i'm just showing up basically. i marinated the skirt steak with lemon juice, XVOO, sea salt and a wicked amount of crushed black pepper in 4 1 lb ziplock plastic bags.

YUMO!

i got your beer butt chicken (and wings) saved. it's like i said, my buddy's grill is too short to close the lid with a chicken standing up. but, we'll swing it somehow. someday.
