There are all kinds of weird plant eating caterpillars on my dill and my Echinacea plants. They even scattered into my swimming pool and are floating around on top of my turtle water thermometer!

The one on the right is a Monarch butterfly larvy, I think. They LOVE dill...watch and see if they make light blue cocoons...it's really neat to watch.

Mom,

Put three tablespoons of dish detergent in a quart spray bottle and fill it the rest of the way with water. Spray your plants every couple of days, especially the undersides of the leaves, and you'll greatly discourage all pests. It won't hurt the plants or leave pesticide residue, but it will upset the digestive system of the creepy-crawlies. It will ruin their appetites and their whole day.

One on the right is a black swallowtail cattah.pilla

Monarch's usually eat milkweed. Swallowtails, dill.

We 'raised' butterflys as chitlins.
