Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (http://javascript<b></b>:siteSearch('Hillary Rodham Clinton');), the first female candidate with a serious shot at the presidency, drew the night's largest cheer when she suggested there was a hint of racism in the way AIDS is addressed in this country.
"Let me just put this in perspective: If HIV-AIDS were the leading cause of death of white women between the ages of 25 and 34 there would be an outraged, outcry in this country," said the New York senator.
ed there was a hint of racism in the way AIDS is addressed in this country.

Hey Hilliary, how much money do we need to spend on AIDS research? It already receives more federal dollars than almost any other disease, many of which affect a lot more people of all races than does AIDS. http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,970428,00.html

Idiot.

You know, AIDS was created by the CIA to wipe out the black race. Did anyone mention that? I'd figure Kicinich or John Boy Edwards would one-up Hillary with that cold hard fact.

I gotta figure that's better than waiting until 5,000 Americans die before you even bother to mention the disease in public.

Here's how I see it, not necessarily how I want it:
Ms Clinton is going to be elected. The country needs to get this "women can do it better" and "federal $ fixes our problems" out of it's system. Just like America realized Jimmy Carter was a big mistake (hoping he would clean up Washington after Watergate), so will most of the country loath Ms Clinton in about 2010.Thread closed. Jaux hit the nail on the head.

You linked a 17 year old Krauthammer article. Forgive me if I don't put much credence in anything that turd had to say nearly two decades ago.

Point is still true. We spend more money on AIDS than several other diseases that kill more people each year? Why is that? Just wondering how we as a nation can justify spending more money on a disease that doesn't kill as many people as high blood pressure, cancer, or diabetes?
