I forgot how good these things are.

We brought about five pounds of green peanuts fresh from the ground home from SC. Mrs. Homey cooked them yesterday. Boiled in brine, ideally in a pressure vessel.

Them suckas be tasty.

Foul. They smell like wet dog and taste like crunchy peat moss. Why ruin the natural peanut flavor by soaking it in water?

No, it's because they've got something wrong with their upbringing. Just because I can mix 80 condiments together and confuse my taste buds into saying "Well.. I guess that's all right..." doesn't make it high cuisine. It just makes it another bizarre concoction made by some dumb hillbilly. :D

I discovered boiled peanuts at Hyman's in Charleston, S.C and they are the shiznit. The Hollywood Corners gas station in Norman has a sign for boiled peanuts, but I have never asked about them inside. I don't need another fattening addiction.

I discovered boiled peanuts at Hyman's in Charleston, S.C and they are the shiznit. The Hollywood Corners gas station in Norman has a sign for boiled peanuts, but I have never asked about them inside. I don't need another fattening addiction.

I am the proud owner of a Hyman's t-shirt purchased last week at the restaurant. I'm not sure where to wear it, since to the unknowing, I might appear to be marketing a "re-virginizing" technique or sumpin';)
