I have been with the same group farmers for 14 years.

I have had no claims in that time yet I am being charged 722.00 every 6 months for standard coverage.

Any recommendations from you folks?

TIA:pop:

right - you might find something a little cheaper, but really not much...do you have your homeowners thru farmers? sometimes they'll discount you for having both

i'm with USAA and have a 99 lexus and a 04 highlander with 100/300/100 at about 576 every 6 months

but i think farmers is pretty competitive with the other major carriers

I doubled all of my coverage after my wreck. I learned the hard way that $50K isn't near enough if you take out a semi.

You REALLY want to up your coverage limits.

That does seem a tad high for just liability.

Have you had any tickets? How's your credit? I don't know if Farmer's uses credit scoring or not.

For liability? I'd think age and driving record would be the primary drivers.

You'd be surprised at the correlation between credit score and claims paid on liability.

i dont know if its strictly liability, or on comp/collision

but you are correct about the correlation

I know Progressive rates liability by credit score. Not sure about other carriers-I don't think SAFECO does.

do you mean county mutual? country mutual doesnt make sense

we sell "non-standard" policies, which means "strictly minimum limits"

you cant get an increased policy limits from us.....

Actually, it's the other way around. People who can't drive also have poor credit.

No geico or progressive users on here? Are they good insurers or just good advertisers?

Frozen Sooner

Progressive has kinda sucky claims service from anecdotal evidence. One of my really good friends is a high mucky-muck with Geico claims, and I think he's cool. :D

Me, I've been happy with State Farm.

I have Progressive insurance. They beat everybody else's rates by a long shot. When I used to get telemarketer calls from other insurance companies offering to do a rate comparison, half of them would give up as soon as I said I had Progressive. I've had two claims with them, and they were great. They offered to pay for stuff I didn't even ask for. The first claim was an accident; I wasn't at fault, but the other guy had Progressive, too. The second claim was for a smashed out window. Again, no problems.
