I'll say one thing, we've been getting so much rain, when you get into Oklahoma on I-40 from the parched states to our East, it literally looks like you are entering the Promised Land (as if there were any doubt!).

I've never seen the Arkansas River any broader, but the Mississippi is way down.

yep, and at Memphis where we crossed, it's normally half a mile wide.

What Route did you go ?
I can make it to Atlanta in just under 12 hrs .
I head out to Memphis hang a right to Birmingham hang a left and hit it .

That's it. Then about another four to Mrs. Homey's hometown in Souse Cackalackey. Neeses, SC. Six miles south of North, South Carolina.

that trip is a lot easier since they've done all that work on 78. since i have to drive that a couple of times a year, i'll be glad when it's done. jasper to b'ham is a beyotch.
