It's a great idea.

Much better than a parking garage for the new arena.

I love the idea if it happens. Like the article mentions they have been releasing these amazing artist renderings of fantastic projects along the river for years....seldom do any ever happen. We'll see...

In before Bri goes off on people that don't live in Tulsa proper. ;)

He better be nice to 'em. They're gonna ask for a COUNTY wide vote on this one.

I'd rather they fix the roads and come up with a coherent plan to maintain them. Other than hiring a few illegals and giving them tar, a shovel, and a sign that says "Pothole Patrol".

I think it is a good idea.

There's too much traffic already... and those bottled blondes with the fake snoobage... and the doofuses with pressed jeans and striped shirts untucked... and the pretention.. and the roads succ.. oh wait.. I thought this was another bashing Dallas thread. :O

Sounds like Lid gave every reason we should let the terrorists win and bomb I-35 through downtown Austin.

I think they should look hard at doing it. It capitalizes on one of T-town's best existing assets. The river is a big part of the city's identity. They need some "big-thinking" projects to get off of high-center. I don't think Vision 2025 was focused or dramatic enough to make the kind of impact Tulsa needs in the long run.

The Riverparks area is a nice area, and it's close to Brookside. This would be good for Tulsa, and it's not a copycat job of Bricktown/OKC. Tulsa needs something like this.

Speaking of Brookside, does anyone know if/when Suede will open back up (if they haven't already)?

TIA.

Amen.

The river should have been LONG ago, and been the very first thing the city worked on.

I wonder what all the gangs down Riverside think about it?;)

Good grief. Jewel, Suede, Id, Some Gay Bar Whose Name I Can't Remember... why can't anything stay in that location for more than 2-3 years?

no clue about the tulsa river project, but is every city with a river planning something like this?

first OKC, now Dallas is trying to do something special with the trinity river......and tulsa

Is the North Canadian navigable at any point? Is the Trinity?

Those are creeks. The Arkansas is like the Mississippi on crack. With some sand.

Is the North Canadian navigable at any point?...
Actually, yeah. Except it's called the Oklahoma! River at that point. The City of OKC spent about $35 million to put in low-water dams and locks, and the plan now is to have enclosed passenger ferries traversing it. The boats will cost about a million each.

T-town will have to put in low-water dams too, if they want to make the Arkansas navigable. Too many fluctuations and sandbars right now...

yeah Detroit just finished a project and is having a huge celebration this weekend promoting our Riverwalk on the Detroit River. Mind you, that we've only got claim to half the river, since the other half belongs to Windsor.

I say we launch a preemptive strike on Broken Arrow.

Once BA falls, Owasso should realize the true potential of this city and Darth Taylor.
