I had a 90% amputation of my right foot when I was a kid.
A car almost hit me in a parking lot and he ran over my foot with the brakes locked. It twisted my foot off. They re-attached it and a month later I got a skin graft off my thigh to my ankle which had lots of skin loss.
About a year later I was walking again.
I ran the 50 yard dash in 5.8 my senior year in HS...played football, basketball and tennis.
I was a very lucky kid. If the Achilles Tendon hadn't healed...my foot would have never worked again. They also had to fix the muscles in my shin with 2 incisions. One above the ankle and another halfway up the shin on the outside of the leg. Doctors told me that they originally considered amputating the foot and shin at the knee.
That was 1968.
Technology has come along way since then.
I feel her pain. I hope she recovers and learns to walk again.
If she ends up with prosthetics...lets hope Six Flags and the Ride maker pays all her bills without incident.

i was kinda thinking that techology may be able to help her out as well, kinda depends on how clean the injury was i'm sure. they do pretty good things with prosthetics these days too, apparently: http://www.plastic.com/article.html;sid=05/06/02/07025211
but i'm sure she'll have a good leg to stand on with the lawsuit ;)

I was at this Pro Beach Volleyball deal one time and they had a Band up on this flatbed trailer. They were offering a prize to the person with the biggest scar.
I ran up and showed this young sweet lady the scar on my ankle and she was on the microphone asking me how it happened. I gave her the a synopsis of what happened. She goes "OMG ! ! !".
I told her that the scar on my ankle wasn't the biggest scar I had. This was in front of about 1000-2000 people mind you...most of them drunk...:D
She asked..."Where's your other one?".
I got real close to the mic and said..."It's my circumcision".
The crowd roared and she hit me....:D

Thats a really sad story. I feel for her. Can she sue? I would think that on the back of the ticket in fine print is would say that you give up your right to sue if you get hurt riding our rides. I cant imagine having my feet cut off. :(

I doubt the liabililty on the ticket covers a stituation like this. It's probably more applicable to strained backs, etc.
