John reminds me of this temp we used to have who's name is also John.

He's an alien or something. Show is weird.

3 generations of surfer d00ds.

Wiki-Linkage Stuff (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_from_Cincinnati)

The program deals with a strange young man of mysterious origin and the effect he has on a community and in particular a dysfunctional family of professional surfers.

...A stranger called John arrives in a small shoreside town Imperial Beach where he befriends the legendary surfing family, the Yosts. Meanwhile, Mitch prohibits his grandson Shaun from attending a surfing competition and local businessman Dickstein and Ramon devise a plan to sell their property, The Snug Harbor Motel.

This is what I like about HBO. They take some chances with weirdness like Carnival, Deadwood, 6 Feet Under, etc. All had some great episodes and a fair share of yawners. I'm gonna keep watching it for awhile in case it turns out to be amazing. Didn't Carnival have us all speculating about what was what and then just---KABLOOIE--it was over?

The cast is pretty great. 'Course I've been a Rebecca DeMornay fan since Risky Business. "Lana's what every white boy on the lake wants."

So...Episode 2 was interesting and entertaining, no?

"When your kid can pull that off you can come back here and **** in my ear."

Tonight: His visit, Day 4. (http://www.hbo.com)

How will the Yosts respond to the news that Shaun's porn-star mom is back in town? Plus, Bill gets a strange mandate from Zippy.

I don't know Butchie instead.

So, tonight "all will be revealed." The season finale. This show took an extra weird turn about three episodes ago, but it was too late for me. I'm hooked on the characters. Especially Butchie, Bill, and Freddy (The Hawaiian.)

It's too bad it's get canceled then.

I liked it at first, but it's too slow for me. I haven't been able to watch it the last couple of weeks.

i'm kinda not caring about the show anymore... i'm still watching, but it's like they are over-dramaticizing everything or something

i don't care as much as they think i should or something

Nice avatar Rhino.
You've gotta get outta your fatigues. And yeah, I'm as confused as ever. Only thing that made sense was Linc Stark's account of how things tied together using his megaphone.
