View Full Version : I have discovered the ultimate pants...

and that is a good thing.

If you need nice pants you can knock around in or launder and press to wear with a jacket for kicking it up a notch, you can't do finer than these.

I have been wearing a pair for a year. Not constantly of course, because that would be sick -- but often. They hold up great and they are historical and stuff because they are precise copies of the khakis worn by our guys in WWII all over the world. Made in the USA.

Get you some.

I know, but d00d, these things wear like iron, have nice deep pockets, roomy in the butt, made in Reading PA by Americans, and if you send them to the cleaners and ask for starch, they come back looking like a million bucks and are totally suitable for the office with a nice tie and sports coat (I recommend a navy blazer)

IOW, they are the shiznit.

$100 pants.

Now all I need are some $50 socks.

And perhaps a $75 pair of boxerbriefs

If I ever paid $100 for a pair of pants they better have a built in hand job feature.

THAT'S why they cost a C note.

Also, please avoid purchasing the ones with pleats. Khakis should ONLY be worn plain front. YWIA.

What's up with the cuffs without pleats? They should NEVER be present without pleats.

I can usually buy a good pair of Zegnas on sale for 110-120.

Not so much. Try taking a pair of new pants to the tailor with plain front and ask him what he thinks about putting cuffs on them. It may be what you like, but it's pretty much a "no".

Bill's Khakis are expensive but that doesn't make them a waste. I have only had mine for a little over 2 years, but so far they hold up much better than other pants I have purchased. If they last significantly longer than cheaper pants then they are well worth it. I haven't had them long enough to speak conclusively, but so far they hold up much better than the other pants I own.

Of course, I may have to give the M2s a shot. They sell them at Rothman's which is around the corner from my office- may give'em a try on. As long as they're <100 bucks, I won't have to pay sales tax.

There comes a point that you are just paying extra.

It doesn't matter if we are talking pants, contractors or food.

FWIW.......many good contractors are reasonably priced and some expensive contractors build crap. Higher price equating to better quality is a pretty loose observation.
