I'm trying to buy a bedspread online and I also want to buy the matching pillowcase things for the pillows that you don't sleep on.

I think they may be called shams but I don't know.

Also, what in the wild world of sports is a duvet cover? For that matter what is a duvet? A coverlet?

I just want a bedspread and two covers for pillows that match the bedspread.

TIA

I just checked with a female on this stuff. Sounds like frilly stuff that those bedroom shops use to drain mens assets thru womens credit card usage.

Do you want to talk to Lil Baja? She is working at BB&B this summer in the linens area.
Duvet cover is basically a "pillowcase" for a plain type of comforter or duvet.
Shams are the decorative pillows on the bed. There are shams in three sizes - regular that fit regluar pillows, queen/king for the queen of king pillows and European shams that are 28" (I think) square and take the Euro pillows.

I thought the sham was the frilly thing that cover the box springs. What are those called?

OK, the wife just told me there are 2 kinds of shams, the pillow case sham and the frilly thing around the box springs, The duvet thinging is a cover you put the comforter in. like a giant pillow case.

Supposed to keep the dust out from under the bed. In my case it's to hide the dust under the bed.:O

400-1000 count sheet set (fitted sheet, flat sheet and pillow cases) and a comforter. Stuff that you'll never touch is a waste of money.

I bought this suede leather bed set that included a duvet, shams, throw blanket, dust cover, etc.

I love the thing though, absolutely love it.

?
I don't see what the big deal is. Everyone has to sleep. Everyone uses sheets, most use a comforter or some blanket, and everyone uses a pillow right? I don't get what's so gay about that. There's nothing wrong at all with finding a nice bed set that fits your lifestyle or personal tastes. I'd highly recommend this bed set to anyone.

Those frilly shammie things around the mattress come in handy once't when I'd rolled out of bed drunk and had to blow my nose.

My nose gets stuffed up when I drink too much Bud.

suede.
I thought leather was manly and such.
What material should I have purchased?

It feels REAAAALLLLY good. It feels so good it'd be difficult for anyone to resist the temptation of jumping into my bed.

SicEmBaylor
6/16/2007, 02:59 AM
Actually, I think technically, a duvet is a cover for a comforter. It's not a full comforter.

yermom
6/16/2007, 03:02 AM
that would be the "duvet cover"
