Sorry for the slow update.

If you all didn't already know - the Wichita Grand Opera decided to keep me around full-time. I'm now the assistant conductor / music administrator / orchestra manager / development assistant / occasional trombonist / general lackey. Yeah, they keep me busy. Also, they're paying me and I'm learning both the production AND fundraising sides of this business. Sweet for a first gig that I didn't really even have to apply or audition for. Needless to say, I'm pretty pumped about the whole situation.

Oh yeah, so I'm mostly in Wichita now. I'll be in Norman occasionally. Plus side: no working weekends unless there's a show going. Shows don't start until December, so I can probably still make it to all the home games. I may have to get on a season-ticket waiting list at some point.

Nah. I'll be starting small - mostly working with the chorus and such, leaving the actual productions to the bigwigs we bring in to conduct. On the upside, that means I also get a chance to learn from some very, very good conductors.

Re the games. We've some friends who are interested in selling a pair (or even just one) of season tix (their kids don't go to games.) You would be sitting behind me, but you'd get over it. Say the word thunderbird and I'll hook it up.

Oh, before I forget, there are two ex-band phags that sit in front of me so you would feel all at home and stuff. I always get wood when the Pride plays a Sousa march and they look at me like I'm the phag. heh.
