of fishing tackle. I kinda felt bad loading all of it into my pickup. Kinda made me sad.

I was hanging out with my grandparents and aunt yesterday evening and asked him if he would show me how he ties lures and such on the end of the line. Just to give him something to do and to feel useful. My aunt was being kind of hateful to him because he's damn near deaf and he was getting on her nerves because you have to stop conversations and explain what's being said to him.

Anyhoo, he loaded me up with a few rods and reels, cigar boxes full of hooks, jigs, sponges, topwater lures, fillet knives, a really neat thing to organize the lures, a net, weights.

I think he was having fun going through his stuff and helping me load it up.

Nice Grandpa, and nice of you to make him feel useful. That's pretty important when you get older.

He didn't want to go fishing. We don't have a boat. He doesn't like to leave his house. That's why we didn't go fishing.

My brother was happy that I got all of our granddad's fishing stuff. I told him that I would half it up for him.

he's 84 and when he turned 82 he said that would be his last year as his mom and dad died when they were 83. He just wanted to stay alive long enough to see my brother's kid be born.

He does not want to go fishing.

you don't need a boat, take him out, sit him at the end of the pier one evening, toss some lines out and just visit. if you catch some crappie, hooray, if you don't, hooray...

If you bring your *** to Ardmore I have access to a 45 acre pond and about 15 other 3-15 acre sized ponds on the same property.
