You are going to be SO disappointed. It was funny......by 1970's standards. However, it does have it's moments. Just be prepared to go "WTF?"

I think he'll still find it funny. Probably more so, because it's so un-PC. Mel Brooks would be shot if he tried to make it today, and that's a shame.

Men...you are about to embark on a great crusade to stamp out runaway decency in the west. Now you will only be risking your lives...whilst I will be risking an almost certain Acadamy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Awesome movie...not as funny as Spaceballs imo.

I think it still holds up pretty well. I watched it on a plane a couple of years ago and still cracked up quite a bit.

No way in hell could that movie be made these days.

I don't agree that these movies couldn't be made today.

I've seen movies in the last few years that push the envelope regarding race and sexual orientation.

As good as it gets had quite a few fudgepacking jokes form Jack.

And don't get me wrong, ANY movie is up for scrutiny from a whiney group of opposition, but to say they CAN'T be made is a reach.

Well yeah, who doesn't?

Only thing is you like a bunch of the indie/grunge/punky/rappy stuff. Me? Not so much. I don't worry about being hip or cool to the youngsters any more - cause impressing youngsters simply doesn't pay. I listen to what I like and **** the other stuff. I'm just lucky enough to like a wide range of music. What's funny is that as my kids grow out of their teens and into their early 20's, they're always listening to more and more blues and classic rock. They still like their Dirty Old Bastard, but seeing them rock out to some ZZTop or Grand Funk or Black Sabbath warms the cockles of my cold, calloused heart.
