This little segment appeared in today's edition of the "Fayetteville Observer."

"The bride wore a diamond white and Claret royal stain strapless gown by Bonny. The gown had pleated bands flowing across the bodice and down the semi-cathedral train with lace accents. She also wore a red strapless bodice flowing with rhinestone beadwork to the dropped waist. Full-ruched skirt with a semi-cathedral train accented with rhinestone flowers."

WTF??

This is close, but not exactly the same one described. I'm too lazy to look through 5 pages of wedding gowns.

This is a little bit closer to the dress.... Seriously. Red wedding dress? Way to advertise your loss of citizenship in Virginia. ;)

It reminds me of reading about the game of cricket. I don't understand that either.

Then WTF even bother with the whole bride dealio? Those things should be one per customer. After that, it's just tiresome, narcissistic self-indulgence.

Different cultures consider different colors appropriate for weddings. And white became popular here after Queen Victoria's wedding.
And I can't really throw any stones - you would at what we thought was stylish.

Sorry. Bride's a bride. I wouldn't think she should expect dad to foot the bill for numbers two or three, but the whole POINT of being a bride is narcissistic self-indulgence.

Of course, I come from a whole line of people who didn't spend an arm and a leg for a wedding. Both sets of grandparents were wed by the JoP. My mom's first wedding was in the pastor's study. When she married my dad, she wore a lilac colored after-5 dress and they were married at the chapel of Baptist Hospital because that's where she worked.
