That's awesome. I'm seriously considering that too. But only if I can heckle the conductor. :D

$150 per person? I'll sit near the lake with my folding lawn chair and a cooler full of natty lite. :D

well, $100 of the 150 is donation to the opera (so you can write it off) and $50 is for the 3-course meal at Cibola.

shockingly, my dad didn't even complain when my mom ordered the tickets

:D yeah, he knows. of course, he's not a big fan of lawn chairs or sitting in the grass, so it's probably for the best

YAY GHP! awesome jorb

Great show. We ended up with teh kids so we didnt get to stay long. The plan was to stay all night and do some swingin' at the end.
We arrived as the jazz band was playing. That sure wasn't GHP conducting them. :D
PG, I considered throwing a pine cone or something at your table. It was impossible to get over to the uppity section you were sitting in. :texan:

yeah, i know :O
And that was KEith Woolery conducting the jazz band...it's a community band, so you can't criticize too much.

Fugue
6/4/2007, 10:10 AM
Oh, I thought they were great. My only problem with the show was the volume level. It seems like the good outdoot shows are too quiet and the crappy ones are way too loud. :les:

Fugue
6/4/2007, 10:11 AM
outdoot?

proud gonzo
6/4/2007, 10:44 AM
yeah--you could hear the singers pretty well, but the musicians were kinda quiet. it wasn't a full orchestra, though, so it's understandable i guess

Can't GHP conduct louder??

Boarder
6/4/2007, 11:05 AM
Pfft. The conductor just stand there and waves his wand. The musicians do all the work.

GHP did play trombone on several tunes, though. played nice and loud :D

My brother played nice and loud, too. Kicked out a killer, funky-azz bass solo. Great crowd at the show.
