Got my copy in the mail over the weekend.
"Additional names are associated with this social security number. [We] recommend you contact the individual for further investigation"
WTF?!?!?!?! I've been on the phone all mornin with the SS national and local office, as well as the FTC. All are giving me the run around, just sending me to other places.
Don't make me come down there! :texan:

when I filled out the paperwork for the investigation, it asked if I wanted a copy so I checked "yes" just to see what they're all about.

since the SS office wouldn't do anything over the phone except tell me to call their fraud hotline, and after MANY attempts of calling I never was able to get to a REAL person, I marched my black a$$ down there this morning. The website said they open at 8, so I showed up about 8:15 only to find out they don't open 'til 9:00. There were already several cars of blue hairs waiting on them to open, but I don't have that kind of time. I'm usually at work by 7. Also, they close at 4:00. What kind of golddayum hours is that anyway?!?!?!?!?!?! ****

You think the government wants you to come by and voice your problems? That costs money, and means they have to do something. That's a bad thing.

To be serious for a second, you might also want to call Experian Fraud Alert. They will put a flag on your credit report for 90 days so that before any credit is extended in your name you will be called first. They will also notify the other credit agencies.
I had to do this last week after our house was broken into. I felt my SS# was compromised.
The number is 888-397-3742. It's a really easy automated process.

Big question is whether the names under the SSN are legit. As I understand it, all SSN are not unique to each individual, there may be multiple people with the same numbers. I do not understand why or under what circumstances multiple people may have the same SSN, but I believe that can be the case. Perhaps there are some illegals with TD2000's SSN or she may indeed be the victim of fraud.
