Since the seller has accepted our offer on the house it was time to clean up the credit. It wasn't as bad as I though it would be, but now it's 0. I am totally and completely current. It's like the first time, ever!

Now, let's hope it'll reflect positvely with the FHA dudes.

aren't you supposed to:

clean up the credit
find out how much you can get a mortgage for
then look for the house..

I was already prequalified for a loan, but my realtor decided we'd try the FHA route since the down payment was much lower. The big thing with the FHA I'm told, is they don't want any outstanding collections but they don't go by credit score.

I think that's right...

My 1st mortgage was FHA and we had to get everything cleared up with the credit Bureaus. We used 1st time Homebuyer dough too.

Congrats! I bet you'll have no problems unless something little shows up when they check your credit. I think they get a more in-depth report than you and I see.
