Oh and AI is about enjoying the competition. When it gets down to this, it's hard to care.

I think that Blake was on the losing end to begin with. His first performance really was good. He didnt stand a chance singing the same ballad against Jordin. He just isnt that kind of singer. He should have done something else then the Maroon 5 song, since the last song was a slow sappy one.

Jordin is very talented. Problem is she's just an interchangeable cog in the music industry's machine.

I've been saying it all along that Blake has more originality than just about anyone who's ever been on this show.

I like the way Simon all of a sudden starts rambling on about how it's a singing competition because he was so petrified he might have to record that crappy single with Blake.

If they turned the contestants completely loose at the end, Blake wins. As it is, they'll get the record sales they want.

Coming in second could be a really good thing for Blake, because then he can sign a record deal to his terms with a band to suit his talents, and probably make a bigger name for himself than he would locked into the AI winner's contract.

Unfortunately, the BEST voice got voted off last week. Melinda was tops in this competition, vocally speaking.

melinda was more polished- she had been doing it as a back up singer- jordin was as good as her and her up side is huge.

That song was horrible, I don't know why they keep doing that to the finalists. Carrie Underwood had to sing some sappy tune written by some amateur hack too; I guess they all do.

It would be in everyone's best interest for Jordin to win this. Then Blake can get signed and make his own music (Daughtry?) and Jordin can fit the bill as the teen pop star. Everybody wins.

AI is only a good watch during the train-wreck portion of each season. After they are all "good," it is totally worthless. Once they are all "good," you could probably replace each contestant with vocal music majors from any university and no one would notice.

Finding a voice like that isn't the tough part. Finding someone with a personality that can get up in front of that many people and be entertaining is surprisingly difficult.

Daughtry got voted off well before the finale and I'd say he has done pretty well. His album was the fastest selling debut rock album EVAR, and you know he got a nice chunk of change from AI for allowing them to use "Home" as their getting booted off the show song.

His album is actually really good IMO. I wonder how much different his album would have been had he actually won last season...

All that said, it isn't always the best voice that wins. Look at Taylor Hicks - you can't really believe he had the best voice out of the final 12 on that show last year...
