we found that the number one cone was broken when we got it to surface

I think we got all we could out of it. Surprisingly, we were getting about 10 feet an hour with it in this condition.

I don't know about the tri-cone bits. The new PDC bits are rented for about$12,000 plus $4/ft drilled and about $15,000 if they get returned in the condition that tri-cone bit is.

uh oh. no pictures this time but they got out of the hole this morning about 9am to pick up a new bottom hole assembly and one of the cones was missing. They just got back on bottom with a magnet to pick it up. I feel sorry for our company man. He's worried that he's going to lose his job being as this is the second time we've has to go fishing on this well.

the tri-cones are about $9,000.

Homer, They got the piece of the cone on the first trip last time so they are going to try it again. They might have put a junk basket above the magnet just in case but I don't know.

Well, did you get deep enough for the nuclear bomb to blow up that asteroid or are we all dead? I need to wrap some things up if so...
