"attention deficit disorder" is a crack-up too. It should be "healed" by application of force to the glutteous maximus. Instead, we medicate them into compliance. Kinda like Nurse Ratched did to R.P. McMurphy.

Well, I'm more interested in just funny names than getting into a debate about the validity of the condition :)

okay. erectile dysfunction. I think they cooked that one up because it sounds less emasculating than "impotence" which is what we called it for about a thousand years.

Serious posts go silly at the speed of light, and silly posts go serious almost as quickly.

ooh, that reminds me. Temple mandibular joint syndrome. It's right up there with carpal tunnel syndrome. Invented conditions that make beaucoup bucks for certain practitioners of psuedo-medicine.

My MIL has restless leg syndrome. Never heard of it before her or the TV ads. For her it is quite painful bothersome. I knew she took quinine for years to help reduce the cramps and spasms in her leg.

Yeah similar thing for me. I have a stubborn case of fungus which has brought out my skin cancer. It sounds bad and it sounds like I am unhygienic. Nothing could be further from the case...But after 5 years of treating it topically with Loprox, the docs have decided to nuke it with Lamisil. I sure hope that stuff kills it.

My wife had that, seriously. Her jaw would either lock open or closed frequently. Two years of braces later and she hasn't had it happen again. So, while some practitioners were selling snake oil, others had legitimate solutions.
