Because he can make "record scratching" sounds with his mouth, I guess. It's kinda cool, but he's a total one-trick pony. As a singer, he's wholly mediocre. I don't guess that matters for pop music today, but I don't think the beat boxing will be enough to put him over.

The fact that he even tries to re-arrange songs gives me hope for the future. Everyone else just sings karaoke style with their version of the warbling tacked on the long notes.

I haven't watched a lot of it, but PG keeps up with it, and from what I've seen, Blake has way more musical talent than the others. He actually tries to avoid using the beat-boxing as much as he can. Plus, the fact that he actually writes out new charts (in the space of a week - no easy feat) so he can do his arrangements of the songs rather than just sing someone else's song says a LOT to me. Even if he doesn't win, someone will be handing him a ton of money for a recording contract.
