Huh?

I make no presumptions of Thompson beyond the fact that I generally think that "flash" candidates (i.e. Ahnold, Ventura, Reagan, Forbes, JFK) kick the country in the balls and if you vote for them you deserve what you get. But this whole episode seems to be fluff, I mean this is the water-skiing squirrel of politics.

That said, lately America has had a distaste for the "inevitable president" in elections, such as George HW Bush or Al Gore. Clinton is currently trying to secure that spot. If recent history is a guide, I wouldn't be super shocked by a Edwards v Thompson election.

Hayul yais! I'd vote for him. I'd also buy Ahab a new 'poon if he'd promise to shove it up M. Moore's disgusting arse. Geez, now I know what Rosie O'D-ed would look like in drag. 'Course, she grows her own whiskers.

I'm really hoping Thompson runs . I really hope both he and Gingrich don't run and split the real conservative vote.

But yeah, I'm pinning my hopes on Thompson. He'll run, I just hope it isn't too late.

BTW, I demand that clip be forbidden from children because it features a man with a cigar. If kids see him smoking, it will be all the rage with the tots, ergo, Thompson supports cancer for children. You people are sick.

That was absolute classic! America needs Fred Thompson for President!

I can't wait to see what he'd have to say to Reid or Pelosi.

man he's gotten old.

I heard him on the radio a few weeks ago. he spoke for about 10 minutes and gave his 2 cents on the war on terror and a few domestic issues. he's certainly cut and dried and has that great actor delivery.

The simpleton in me recalls that Reagan truly brought the country to its knees. I mean, Jimmy Carter had us on the right track. Weak foreign policy, double digit inflation, all those terrific things that made us a strong, prosperous nation.

The Soviet Union must be a bit embarrassed to have been brought to their knees by a "flash candidate".

If you believe that one man in the course of 8 years brought down the 2nd most powerful nation of the 20th century all by his lonesome, that is your deal. The cult of Reagan is as powerful as the cult of JFK, and both are equally outside of reality.

I don't know, Carter nearly brought down the most powerful nation of the 20th century in 4 years so it's not impossible that Reagan could do the 2nd in 8. ;)

here's what i like about Thompson - after years of Bush and the "turn the other cheek and take the high road" to allegations, we need an administration and a President that will stand up to all the BS that congress and the media likes to fling around.....I think Thompson is that man - just my own opinion

I also liked what he had to say about Iraq and a few other issues

alot of the other candidates just appear like milktoast and bush in another suit and pair of shoes
