My dad has an OU flag we need to hang, and no instructions. It is a 3 X 5 flag with a brass grommet on the top and bottom. I can't figure out how to string it through the top grommet (it's already got a knot in the bottom grommet) and through the hole on the Eagle at the top and back dow nto the bottom. I put it up last year, but I can't remember how to hook it up to where I can pull the remaining string to tighten it to the pole and tie it to the base.

Any help?

Here's the type of bracket (just missing the tie on fro the string at the bottom:

Go to the hardware section at the Wal-marts.

Buy two of these. Small ones.

also buy one of these for mounting just below the bracket if the bracket doesn't have a cleat built-in as most do.

Tie on the clips pictured above at the width of the flag you've chosen (3'. ) Then, tie the ends together with a knot creating a big endless loop. Run up your flag to the top of the staff then wind the excess line around the cleat you've attached below the bracket.

clear?

Yeah, the bracket I have has a place to tie on already. And I'm 30 minutes from the nearest store and would rather just tie it like I had it last year, but I can't remember. If I can't figure it out, I'll do it your way next time I'm near a Wal-Mart.
