Crackdown begins on sex businesses (http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/4794933.html)

This is an outrage! And to rub it in, the Houston Comical puts the picture of my favorite strip club on top of the article!

How the hell does a city with no zoning laws put in a zoning law that outlaws established businesses? I agree that massage parlors and modeling studios need to be put out of business, but not strip clubs!

I guess Houston is getting tired of collecting millions and millions of dollars of taxes from these businesses.

My take is that they must be tired of all the oil company deals going down in the city. That or they figured out that the major oil companies will not process expense claims with these companies (and their AKAs) and figured they don't need them for business any more...

i don't know. but there is a guy who advertises near where i live that is sort of creepy about his "amateur photography studio".

now, since he live near me it's clearly an anti-american marxist-leninist porn shop....instead of yer standard red-blooded American pervert.

Dude then you went to the wrong places...there are some dives don't get me wrong...but the top joints have some great "Talent". Try Stars or the Dolphin I or II, the Acropolis isn't bad either.

Where is PDXSooner when I need him?

Boy, I'd be really interested to see how a city can change zoning laws and make them effective ex post facto.

i thought Atlanta was kind of the de facto strip club capital of the US. at least, if you are in to former SEC cheerleaders and such.

Why in Hell don't they go after the raghead terrorist sleeper cells KNOWN to infest Houston? And...why not address the matter of the bazillion illegal messicans that have invaded the city?
And, for dessert, what about the Katrina Lice that decided to stay where de libbin' and stealin'/stabbin'/shootin' be easy. They've sent Houston's crime rate soaring and further taxed an overburdened infrastructure.
I just realized that I hate virtually 50% of the world's population in general, 75% of the population of Texas, and 99.% of the people of the Middle East, the Balkans, and, oh yeah, Indonesia, Malasia, and the Philippines.
Other than that, things are pretty much OK. (Until we all are killed or enslaved for being infidels or gringos.)
Eff 'em all! (Can you say "Nuke"?)

With malice toward most,
