Under the coordination of Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops and Director of
Athletics Equipment Greg Tipton, members of the Sooner football staff
and others from around the OU campus have donated items that will be
delivered to victims of the Greensburg, Kan., tornado.
The items, which filled a small truck, were delivered to Oklahoma
City-based Feed the Children on Wednesday and are expected to reach
Kansas on Saturday.
"Most of what we sent was clothing," Tipton said, "We had a lot of
children's items and those included toys and books."
Tipton said he was contacted by Stoops last Sunday with the idea.
"We're all concerned for the people there and want them to know that
we're thinking about them," Stoops said. "Maybe if all of us can do a
small part we can help them get back on their feet more quickly. We're
just hoping the little thing we did can make a difference."
