Any stories on the band member that drowned down at Corpus?

My wife was at a ladies retreat down there and a girl drowned in the pool where they were staying. She was a member of a HS band that was down to march in some parade. They opted out of the parade.

Apparently she couldn't swim. The story my wife heard was that the pool was a little overcrowded and she was pushed away while some horseplay was going on. She had been under for quite some time before it was discovered. The young man that had pushed her away is taking it quite hard from what we heard.

I googled, but wasn't finding any other information.

She was a Willowridge student in Ft. Bend county.

A lot of schools are doing away with school sponsored trips that involve water, including hotel pools.
A Waxahatchie senior died last year (or the year before) at the school's Senior party at a lake. And a FW kids died last year in a similar accident.

It's very sad.
When I through the OKC schools, we were required to learn to swim as part of our 7th grade PE class. I know our district doesn't do that down here, but it might be a good thing to require.
