it's a 75lb bobcat in attack mode, fighting off a water buffalo, whilst holding a pheasant in its mouth.

dang cool mount you're missing out on....

It looked more like a kitten playing with a ball of yarn to me.

Okay, here is a question, Is it legal to hunt Bobcat? I have no clue. Is there a season on Bobcat? I personally am for hunting, however, I can't understand why someone would hunt a prey animal, unless they were rogue or attacking a person. I say that as I think all prey animals are pretty cool and certainly want to kepp them around for the ecosystem maintenance. I personally would not trophy hunt, but would hunt meat animals.

I can't speak for Oklahoma, but we have bobcat season for firearm, and trapping in Nebraska. Even with this the number of cats has risen dramatically the last few years.

I can understand culling to maintain a certain level of numbers.

I never thought of hunting season for non-game animals. Do people eat bobcat, wolf, etc?

I think some people might, but it is more about the pelts. Coyote hunting is big here too.

Okay, coyote is one predator I don't count. They are nasty and prolific. pelts on the barbed wire are okay by me on them...

It is legal. There is a season. I harvested the animal with a bow and arrow. I was deer hunting at the time.

The bobcat and coyote populations are rising.

The seasons and limits are not set at random. The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife will not condone a season that messes up the "ecosystem maintenance". Shopping malls and neighborhoods are what messes up the ecosystem maintenance.

Thanks for the info. Wasn't aware of the increase in Bobcat populations.
