...just an hour west of Albuquerque, I have a place to recommend for some eating...and for good Sooner reasons.
So I was there on business meeting with the Pueblo of Laguna. After meeting from 8 to noon we took the three gentlemen to lunch and the only place at all to go was just south of I-40 and attached to one of their casinos...I believe at the Casa Blanca exit. So we go in, sit down and I ask for recommendations for what to eat...expecting some local flavor.
But as I scroll my eyes down the menu I was investigating burgers and came across one that stood out to me.
The Oklahoma Sooner's Burger.
Yes...I know there was no need for the apostrophe, but it had one on the menu.
It was an 8 oz. sirloin steak with onions, mushrooms, lettuce, tomato and A-1 saunce on a hoagie roll. Why was it the "Oklahoma Sooner's Burger"? No freaking idea. And the manager did not know, either. But there were no other references to sports teams at all on the menu...just standard stuff...and it was very good!
