I started a camera thread a few months ago but after searching for it I found nothing. My question is do those fancy small digital cameras have a black and white feature? TIA

I would assume that they all do along with sepia. Mine does at least.

You're better off shooting in color then using photo edit software to remove the color digitally.

Yup. Thats the one I think I've decided on. I've read some reviews on this particular camera about "white spots" or "dust spots" when taking pics with the flash. Have you expereince this? If ya dont mind me askin Clark, how much she set ya back?

A bunch of cameras have the mode you want. And there certainly is nothing at all wrong with shooting in a black and white mode if that's what you want to do.

That Canon is a great camera, from all that I can tell. When it came down to buying a compact for my wife it was between the predecessor to that model and the Fujifilm F30 (now they have the F31). I ended up getting here the Fujifilm.

Haven't heard about the issue you're talking about though.
