View Full Version : Margarita Question

Okay,
I want a margarita and I don't want to run to the store to get another bottle of mix which I'm almost out of.

I do have plenty of Mt. Dew, so what do you people think of the idea of substituting mt. dew in place of the mix?

And yes, making it from scratch is out of the question as that to would require me going to the store and additional effort.

Well, I whipped up a little bit of a sample. It was horrific. This still isn't as bad as my 3 parts Mt. Dew one part vodka idea.

mix is for suckers.

minute maid limeade is where it is at

Mountain dew only mixes well with Capt Morgans, it tastes like cream soda.

Tequila doesnt mix well with much, sprite or ginger ale maybe. The thing about margarita mix is that it is sweet and sour mix.

Mix it with orange juice and grenadine and make a tequila sunrise or pick another citrus fruit juice.

Mt. Dew is not citrus.

tequilla should only be mixed with oj or other actual citrus drinks

GottaHavePride
5/1/2007, 09:43 PM
Margaritas should only be made with lime juice that you have just squeezed out of an actual lime.

Mixes are for posers.

And I'll take a caipirinha over a margarita any day.

SIDE NOTE: On The Border is selling a drink caller a "YARRR-garita" made with Cap'n Morgan instead of tequila.

Uh, ok, whatever you say. Shiner Bock is average beer by a huge brewery that decided to cute it up for the micro lovers. It's way overrated. I am not alone in this. It's nothing special.

I could go on, but average beer doesn't warrant it.

Now the question is this: have you tried any by Spaten, Paulaner, Hacker-Pschorr, any Trappist ale such as Chimay, Orval, Rochefort, Westmalle, etc., Anchor Brewing Co., Sierra Nevada, Pyramid, or Boulevard?

EDIT: Forgot to include Newcastle Brown, Bass, Harp, and such.

Beer and Ritas do not go with cigars. The most appropriate drink to savor with a fine cigar is a good Kentucky Bourbon, neat or with a twist of lemon.

If you are ever in the Cayman Islands, grab a Stingray (if they still make it)...very good beer. I was going to have a friend bring me back a 12 pack when he went there on a cruise a fwe years back, but the weather was bad when they got to the Caymans and they didnt let anyone off the ship.
