From 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. tomorrow, you can call (800) 456-8525 and talk to an Oklahoma lawyer at no charge. HMFIC has worked on this community service project in the past, although I think he's a tad tied up this year with the young'uns, so you probably won't get to talk to him.

If you've read John Grisham's "The Innocent Man," you might want to tune into OETA at 7 p.m. for the "Ask A Lawyer" TV show. They are televising an interview with Dennis Fritz, one of the two men convicted and later exonerated for the 1982 murder of Debra Carter in Ada.

You can ask as many questions as you want, although you may be passed off to a different attorney who has more experience in a specific practice area.

I have a Rule Against Perpetuities question. That should kill all 12 hours.

Seriously, that's really cool.

Guy 1 walks into a bar and says, "lawyers are a5sholes".

Guy 2 down at the end of the bar says, "hey, I find that offensive."

Guy 1 says, "Oh sorry, are you a lawyer?"

Guy 2 says, "No, I'm an a5shole."

OUDoc, Medical Examiner.

That reminds me, I knew an architect once who used to brag that they had to be very careful because their mistakes would be visually apparent to all. Unlike doctors who get to bury their mistakes. Lawyers get some cover too because their mistakes go to prison.;)

I cannot imagine how anyone could be a medical examiner, given they sometimes have to autopsy fetid and rotting corpses.

What happens when there's not enough money in a will to fund a trust for a beneficiary because all the money went to a Totten Trust for another beneficiary?

Did you perchance get an answer to this question? Doesn't the money in the Totten trust simply become the property of the beneficiary upon the death of the account owner?

And those of you who couldn't get through... sorry about that. I'm very good at my job.
