A cat has been climbing on my car at night. I haven't actually seen this happen, but I see it's little paw prints on my windshield every morning.

Anything I can do to stop this from happening? I think it's mad that I won't unlock the door.

Dean, I know what your answer would be. I really don't feel like watching for him with shotgun in hand though.

You need to get one of these sunroofs installed.

Double-edged sword, Holley. Your car is warmer than the surrounding stuff-which cats like. Your car is also higher than the surrounding stuff-which cats like.

The solution?

Let your neighbors know that letting their damn cat wander around is against municipal leash laws and that you're going to send their cat to the pound if you catch it.

Exactly.

I have 0 tolerance for people who let animals wander around without leashes inside city limits. Their animals become nuisances for everyone else at best and roadkill at worst.

I agree. In normal cities, cats are not subject to any leash laws. More cats the better as far as I am concerned.

Hey, I love cats. I own two of them. They stay inside.

And yes, cats are subject to leash laws in many cities.

A guy I know sticks a stuffed opossum between his dash and the windshield. The cats stay away.

If you have a chinese place nearby then give them a call. They'd be more than happy to take a stray cat off your hands.

Get a bottle of fox urine from the natural cures for pest store.
Put some on a cotton ball and place it under the edge of the windshield wiper. You won't have to deal with paw prints, but your car will stink.
