looking to spend 150-200 range

only qualifier being i want it to be able to record on dvd+r

any suggestions?

We are closing out the Pioneer DV640 for 177.00. Good unit great price.

i noticed on some models they are advertising that they have the built in astc tuner or whatever it is called...what up wit dat

The Advanced Television Standard Commitee ATSC tuner is the digital tuner. Although it will not record HDTV on removable media. Alot of recorders are doing away with tuners all together including the old NTSC tuner.

Wal-Mart has had an RCA DVD recorder for $100, with HDMI upscaling and an HDMI cable in the box.

I haven't tried to use it to record yet, but, assuming it works reasonably well, that's a hell of a steal.
