I work from home and today was no different. I was working away as usual with nothing out of the ordinary going on.

My wife comes in and says, "Hey, I have a surprise for you." I look at her and ask what it is. She reaches in her pocket and pulls out a piece of plastic about the size of a credit card. She hands it to me and doesn't say a thing.

I look at it, but it takes a minute for me to figure out exactly what it is that she handed me. It was a pregnancy test!!!

Now, I am 36 years old and was pretty sure we were done in the baby making department. I am not saying that I am upset that we are expecting again or anything like that, but it sure was one HELLUVA SURPRISE!!

Anyway, we should have a new Sooner fan to cheer for us by the MNC game.

Ps. Don't tell the rest of my family, they don't know yet. :)

In the long run I am glad it is a pregnancy test, but a credit card would have been less of a shock :)

She is only about 10 weeks along. That is why the rest of my family doesn't know yet.

I've met you. We've even sat together at a game. You're a smart guy. I know you must know how this happens. How could this be a surprise if you haven't been away at sea for the last couple of months?;)

You are right on all accounts. In fact, the new house is finally done so the invitation to Dallas is open at any time.

However, sometimes one gets past the goalie so to speak. 99.9% effective still has that margin of error.

Yeah. Tell me about it. I think we were using the Hannu Toivonen of birth control around '98-'01. Still the best two "surprises" I ever got though.
