Have you discounted the fact she may be smarter than you think and employing a bit of sarcastic wit? I rather think that is what is going on here.

Look at the headline. "Warning" or "Warming"?

That is funny, but after a search:

UPDATE: Whew! BB reader Mike Avent says, "It's a tongue in cheek joke...a quick search of the authors name on the NWAnews.com website reveals a long history of tongue in cheek & snarky letters to the editor." Link and search "Connie Meskimen"

We are talking Arkansas here...

But I did read it and re-read it and if she is using sarcasm, perhaps a winky would help.

And reading the other comments, perhaps context is helpful here. Always bit by the context bug...Dang!

Have to admit, for sarcasm, it is so subtle, that I deemed it legit after reading it multiple times. This person should write for Monty Python.

Yeah, that seemed a little too well written for someone stupid enough to really believe what it said.

They better thank God that congress didn't move DST time back to January.

I have a deep suspicion that this woman is a propaganda tool designed to inflame passions and actually generate sympathy and support for the global warming community and discredit conservative anti-global warming groups. In other words, I think she's a fraud.
