Am I kidding myself in thinking I can get fescue to live in Oklahoma in the summer?

Fescue will croak in the summer. If I had my druthers, I would go for zoysia.

A lot of people down here are going to buffalo grass. It's a pretty good choice if you don't have shade.

If you don't have a lot of shade it will be tough. A buddy of mine had a nice fescue yard with little shade but he had a sprinkler system and watered 3 times per day.

Go for Buffalo Grass...highly drought tolerant.

I got a ****pot of fescue. Under the pecan trees. In the open pasture? Nope.
Suck it up and go with bermuda. Hell, if you want it to grow really good put in a sidewalk. It's be cracking through that sucker in a week.
