I think I'll plant a tree or sumpin'. Of course, the fact I'm driving thirty miles roundtrip in my big 'ol F-OneFitty to the library to study today kinda cancels me out.:O

I think my five year old's K class is focusing on Earth day. A week or so ago, every student in the school came home with a flourescent (sp) lighbulb and she has been bringing home everything from her lunch that has the recycle symbol on it, like her yougurt container, and she is so excited about it. I actually went and dug our recycling container out and we are using it now instead of throwing it all in the trash.

I have no idea when to put it out on the curb or what all I can put in it though. Does anyone here in OKC use their blue recycle container? Do they go out same with the trash?

I cut a tree down yesterday.

To add an ironic twist to this saga, my hippie neighbors across the street brought home a box with a big ol' gas guzzlin' combustion-engine mower inside it to replace their electric one.

Truly committed greenies wouldn't even cut their grass. It could serve as a mini-carbon sink.

Meh, Earth Day is just a rip-off of the far cooler Arbor Day.

Just put it out alongside the trash - it's usually picked up an hour or so after your trash is.

Down in Florida, we've been recyling for years. The green bin gets all recycled paper. The blue bin gets all glass, plastic, and steel (cans, etc.).

It'd be a hell of a lot easier just to throw it all in a garbage bag.

Despite all our efforts, we're still told by the Green World that we're hostile to the environment and we're responsible for the coming end of civilization.

Google up The Global Warming Swindle on youtube. It's very interesting. I'd put a link up but GE blocks the cool video sites for our errr safety.
