so the floor is in........good god did they stir up a buttload of dust
we decided to take out that 4x4 light in the middle of the ceiling and went with can lights.....$250 bucks for 5 of them, installed and everything
now all we have to do is paint - and get rid of dust (mrs jk says "do not notice the dust in these pictures")

I notice the mysterious absence of a can of Raid on the table top.
I don't get it when folks try to hide who they are.
Jk, when do I get to come over for dinner?
And more importantly - Is the tile flooring good enough for sock-footed slippage? Thats always fun.

Gret jorb. Now, jettison the appliances and get stainless steel ones to complete the kitchen do-over and you'll stretch a triple into a home run.;)

I'm just kidding. It's just that, as you are no doubt aware, stainless is considered "cool" nowadays.

yeah we considered stainless steel.....but that would have meant buying a new fridge and i just really had no desire to do that

besides, white TOTALLY complements those pink dishes in a way that stainless just can't.

It looks great jk. :D
I'm adding more cabinets and counter tops in my kitchen. Today the cabinet guy is installing the uppers, and they had better match the older cabinets for the amount of money I'm paying. The first stain sample he brought over wasnt even close, so I'm a little worried about it. I did approve the second stain so hopefully they will stain everything accordingly.
The heating and air guy has to move a vent and the recessed lighting has to be changed before we can install the uppers. Its turned out to be a bigger job than I thought. I had to use more than half of the money I saved for my extra bathroom. :(

i was watching this cialis commercial, and they had a scene where a couple was leaning up against new countertops, and on a new tile floor....looking all lovey dovey at each other
and i'm asking myself "what are they gonna do, just do it right there on the solid surface countertops?"
it seems to me that doing it on top of a new kitchen wouldnt be all that comfortable
