After 30 years of undying devotion, my crock pot has finally bit the dust. I don't think I can actually bring myself to throw it in the trash. I might have it melted down and make myself a nice garden ornament. :(

I'm sorry for your loss. I remember when my last beloved appliance breathed its last. Time will heal the pain.

As soon as that crank handle breaks you can get a washer that plugs in.

I suppose it would be nice to have one with the removable stoneware for easy cleaning, but of course no crock pot could ever replace the one I just lost.

I highly recommend the Hamilton Beach Stay N Go Crockpot! I got one for Christmas and I just love it!

My husband broke the lid to my crockpot two years ago. Of course, it is no longer available - even on eBay. I keep looking though.
It's rectangular, so the odds of finding a replacement lid just anywhere is very slim.

Post a photo. They have loads of odd lids and such in our downtown junk and treasure store. I could keep my eyes open.

I googled crock pots. I am totally overwhelmed.

I hope you're right. Its just that its so hard to find an appliance you can totally depend on these days, one that you feel comfortable with and completely understand. It may take time. The hard part is remembering all the happy times and fun meals we shared with friends and family.
