When does the city/state, whoever, plan on relocating I-40 to the south near downtown?

I've heard several rumblings through the years that I-40 is turning into a giant turd, and they'e thinking about just totally rebuilding it a mile or two to the south, since fixing it would just result in a repaired turd. I've never heard a definite timeline, though.

Oddly enough, I heard a few years ago that Kansas spends more on highway maintenance per mile than any other state. I guess it wasn't just my imagination that I thought Oklahoma's roads were really craptacular compared to Kansas when I first moved here.

I can tell when I've crossed into Oklahaoma from Kansas on I-35 just by the change in the road surface.

I don't know if anyone has ever driven the highway between caney,ks and coffeyville, ks but a few years back they took a perfectly good road and threw down something that resembled tar and some red type rock and totally screwed it up. and they meant to do this!
