Northern Europe Renaissance: Jan van Eyck, Jean Fouquet (awesome work), Bosch, Flemish painters kicked butt. Anotello da Messina, Botticelli was cool.

Don't care for Baroque, or light from dark although I like Velazquez. Vermeer.

Romanticism, blech. Friedrich is cool. William Blake, Picasso, Dali, Francis Bacon, Rothko.

There's a painter from the late 1500's named Juan Bautista Maino who was incredible. oh yeah Jose de Ribera.

there's a painter right now named Paul Pletka who is my favorite.
