can you really learn Spanish from Rosetta Stone?

It may not have anything to do with being gay. In some regions of Spain that's how they talk. They call it the ceceo - the sound of z or c (when followed by i or e) is pronounced as a "th" sound. Common in Andalusia, I believe.

1. Actually go through each and every lesson. About 10-15 times per.
2. Start to think in spanish whenever possible. A serious conscience effort.
3. PRACTICE. You need to find other spanish speakers to converse with.
4. Watch messican TV whenever you can. Listen closely and try to connect nouns/verbs into context and meaning.
5. PRACTICE.
6. PRACTICE.
7. PRACTICE.

It's not a magic pill or silver bullet. It still takes a lot of work.

Heh. Learning a foreign language is a lot like learning magic. When I do my magic thing there's always a ton of kids (and adults) who go "dude, teach me how you did that. I wanna be a magician. That's so cool. Do you know how often I could get laid if I could do that trick?"

I alway say "go **** up a rope." The 1% of people who have the drive/motivation to get proficient at it will figure it out on their own. My own kids get ****ed at me when I won't teach them illusions. Why? Cause they want to learn a single trick or two for the sole purpose of being "cool." If they had a true passion for magic then I'd help them. I've helped a co-worker's kid learn several illusions - and now he's a hell of a lot better/advanced than I am because he does it all the time and is passionate about it. Learning spanish is the same thing. Lots. Of. Practice.
