Went to Hutch JUCO (I was equipment mgr. for the football team) w/ Barry Sanders' older brother Byron, who was a heck of a back in his own right. He blew out his knee early in his soph. year, rehabbed it, & ended up going to Northwestern, where he had back to back 1,000 yard seasons (keep in mind, this was the late 80's when they really stunk). One of the nicest guys I've ever met.

She was a senior when I was a lowly soph. She was a cheerleader, a naturally beautiful girl; tall, dark auburn hair, and super nice. Would often compliment me on my trumpet work at the games. I could only melt when she spoke to me.

There's no doubt about Aubrey. I thought of him, but decided not to post becuase he really only achieved notoriety at WSU, during their glory days. I figured no one would know who he was, but would probably recognize the other names. At the time Sherrod was overshadowed by Carr, Cliff Levingston and Greg Dreiling. Later, still with the Shockers, he was overshadowed by Xavier McDaniel.

Damn, typing that once again reminded me of what an incredible ****ing lineup the Shocks had in the late 70s and early 80s.

BTW, if the three point line had been in place during his career, he would have had UNBELIEVABLE numbers.

Crap that was a great lineup for the Shocks.

Shocks have always been my favorite in-state team (I was born in Wichita). I would have LOVED to have seen what that 25-3 team would've done had they been allowed to go to the dance.
