I had to attend a funeral this afternoon so, I missed the spring game. I DVR'd it and am watching it now.

Is there something different about the helmets this year?

From the back they almost look bike helmets. They have some indentions that I've never noticed before. Have they always been this way and I'm just not very observant???

Did they look like this?

Not all players wear them, it's an option, but I think they've been available 3-4 years.

Or maybe I didn't notice whatever you saw...

Yes, that's it.

I did notice (after I posted) that not all the players were wearing this style. It's the first time I've ever noticed them.

Thanks for the info.......I was just curious.

Apparently they are very good at reducing concussions ,but of course that depends on the hit.

Most concussions occur from shots to the jaw, that helmet goes lower on the jaw line.

Those came out my senior year of high school. The Adam's arena helmet came out the year before and all of the LB' and D-Line got them. We looked pretty sharp in them.

Have any of you ever read anything about the knee braces the Linemen wear? They cost 1000 a pop and all O-linemen are required to wear them. That is a crap ton of money!!!

$1000 for a knee brace? WTF is that about?? They dont look any different than what you get from your local knee specialist. I'm not a fan of those new funking looking helmets. Or those old, thick, World league style face masks.
