This changes the balance of power in the Big XII. Bad for K-State and A&M, but good for the rest of us.

It was a nice ride aTm. You can now resume your normal b-ball suckiness.

The one person who should be really mad is Coach Fran. Now the collie-worshipers can focus on his underachievement year round.

the thread discussing who the next coach is a hillarious read. They sure do think highly of their "basketball tradition."

We, the fans and current and former students, will NEVER bail on you. We are incredibly appreciative of all you have done for our school, and we will provide the resources and support to bring in the right people to make you successful on and off the court.

You have been the pioneers of a new era of Aggie basketball, and now we will make you proud!
That is... until football season. Then you're second-fiddle!
CRAP FARK ALERT!

Did Gillispie promise to stay at Aggieville or something? Here in Lexington, there is excitement about his coming. He is expected to bring a higher temp game along with better recruiting.

However, a couple of caveats: He is not the Billy UK fans really wanted. Accordingly, fans will not be nearly as tolerant and patient the first few years when UK is rebuilding. Second, Billy G has a couple of fairly recent DUI arrests, one reduced in Tulsa in 1999, and another dismissed in 2003 in Texas. He is 47 and divorced without custody of his son(s). Something tells me Billy G is a playa, and his social activities will be scrutinized in Lexington like nowhere else on the planet. This is really not that big of a city, and the message boards will detail all of his coming and goings. If he thinks he can date coeds and married women and get away with it, he is wrong. I just have this feeling he had better learn to be discreet and careful, or there will be some sex/conduct scandals at UK. Good luck, coach G, you will need it

Gillispie did what any other coach would do. A&M is not a great job, its barely a good job. Kentucky is a Great job!! If people are mad that he left, they need to get over it. He took that sorry azz program and won 20 games three straight years with a near miss at going to the elite 8.

you can't trust those wichita shockers. They say they'll coach for you, then they'll shock you right up the... alley. Ah well. We beat his team's arse with our second choice in coaching :D

That's the important part right there--- always make sure you have a grudge match scheduled after the coach shuns you. It's good for fan relationships :D
