For those of you who won't be catching NBA hoop tonight, consider going to LIT in Bricktown where the deadCENTER Film Festival (http://www.deadcenterfilm.org/) folks will showcase some of the best short films from past festivals. Admission is free and you must be 21 to enter.

The festival gets bigger and more coolish every year, with venues all over downtown including the Oklahoma City Museum of Art (http://www.okcmoa.org/), Harkins Theaters, the Untitled [ArtSpace] (http://www.1ne3.org/), the IAO Gallery (http://iaogallery.org/) and others. It's now routinely drawing film makers from all over the U.S. and even points international, with LOTS of great films during the week of its run.

Last year's winner in the Best Okie Film category, Sex Machine (http://sexmachinemovie.com/) (shot in OKC and Austin by Oklahoma native Christopher Sharpe), has been picked up for worldwide DVD distribution, so the locals are making some inroads, thanks in large part to deadCENTER. It's a fun time, and definitely worth supporting. I may roll over there after my Hornets smack the Supersonics around.

Remember, this year's festival is June 6-10!

Next thing you know they'll pass a tax initiative to build a new arena.
