Deservedly so...

Great guy who positively affected many lives throughout the course of his career.

Thanks for all you did...your place in the Sporting History Books should be someting for all who enter into Coaching to read IMO.

Not the winningest coach anymore but still a true role model and like JoePa, a pioneer of the game, He won several Black College National Titles and coached 200+ players that eventually went to the NFL. That is unreal.

Over a 57 year career he averaged over 7 wins a season. With scholly limitations that is amazing to me

Cliche' or not, I've always thought he represented everything that is good about college athletics. And that's not even considering the work he has done on behalf of african americans.
