I stopped by my old high school and left a scholarship form with the counsellor. One lucky and deserving individual in Chickasha will be getting a small amount of money for college/techical/trade school.

They have to have at least a 2.75gpa. Other than than they just have to answer a few questions. Name, both parents occupations, school activities, part time jobs held, why they need/should get this money more than someone else. All on one page, can't go over.

It's the Billie Jeanne Griffin Scholarship. Momma Jeanne is my grandmother. I thought it should have her name, not mine. She'll like that and be surprised.

Next year I'm gonna start another one and name if after my dad. I think I'll give the Bert Dixon Scholarship to a Construction Science student at OU.

I don't get it.

You just worked up a form, see who all fills it out, and give X amount of money to some clown that writes in the right stuff on the form? Is it really that simple?

That sounds like the process. How else would you do it?

You've got to beat 1TC at Yahtzee. THAT'S how he should determine who gets the money.

make sure your scholarship goes to a underachiever who wants to be architect. (sp)

PS make sure he's not a member of the gang "the Van Burens"

Sure. Just stop by your local high school and see if the DAR or Rotary Club, or whatever is giving away a scholarship.

Not one kid filled out my little sheet. It would have taken 8 minutes, tops, to fill out.

I have a strong reason to believe that the counsellor I talked to and handed the stuff to did not make it availiable to the students. I don't think the kids ever knew about the free money.

Looks like I'll have to spend that money on beer next weekend.

I'd like to start a scholarship. Those closest to a 2.0 gpa will get the highest consideration. Those considering grad school will automatically be declined. :texan:

Of course with a 2.0 they aint gettin into grad school anyway I guess.

I was glad to see that having all of your teeth wasnt a requirement..In the short time that i have lived here in chickasha, i dont see to many people with all of their teeth..

That's funny, I lived there for 18 years and I'd say that of the people I know, 99% of them have all of their teeth.

Where exactly do you hang out in Chickasha and why do you seem to know all the toothless people?
