I think that was the first movie my parents got me as a kid.
That and Bedknobs and Broomsticks.

My dad took my brother and I to see it in the theater during the 1980 run. We loved it--it is one of the first movies that I really remember seeing.

i saw this in the theater as well

A friend of mine bought an international copy on ebay and made me a copy. I let my kids watch it (5 and 2) and while they loved the animated parts, the live-action bored them. I admit, I felt the same way.
I'd be surprised if Disney officially released it, though. I have a feeling they're too risk-adverse.
